Electric Multiple Units (EMUs) are used in the operation of trains. All trains used in the Urban Railway Lines (URL) are manufactured by Metro-Cammell England. At present, MTR owns 762 cars. Each of them has its own car ID, which is made of 1 letter and 3 numbers (e.g. A203, B436). The letter represents the car type. TRAIN MODERNIZATION Early in 1998, MTR started to modernized URL trains, and the project was finished by late September 2001. The last modernized train was A167, while the first modernized train was A251. |
